Vim e tive uma noite incrível, jantamos por volta das 20h30 e depois assistimos ao show. O show foi ótimo - super recomendo. Nossas garçonetes (Ella e Sarah no bar) foram adoráveis e cuidaram muito bem de nós. Definitivamente um ótimo lugar para comer algo, tomar um drinque e curtir a noite se você estiver a fim de festa.
Sometimes the best restaurant finds happen simply because they’re right where you need them to be.
Today, we were heading to the August Wilson Theatre to see Paranormal Activity, and literally right across the street was Haswell Green’s. Since we were a little early for the show, we decided to stop in for a drink and something to eat and I’m so glad we did!
Haswell Green’s has been part of NYC’s Theatre District since 2018, created with the idea of bringing together the energy of Broadway, great food, cocktails, music, and entertainment all under one roof. And this place definitely has that NYC energy!
First of all, the space is HUGE! It’s beautifully decorated, chic, and inviting, with comfortable booth seating and plenty of traditional tables. The music was great, the atmosphere was lively without being overwhelming, and you can tell this is a place that knows how to set the mood. They also host events and have live music later in the evenings, which I definitely want to experience on a future visit.
Now let’s talk about the FOOD..,,,
We started with the Sourdough Focaccia with salted whipped butter and the Bang Bang Shrimp.
That focaccia?! Warm, soft, delicious and that salted whipped butter was everything. It practically melted in your mouth. I could have happily made a meal out of that alone.
And the Bang Bang Shrimp was SO GOOD! Crispy fried shrimp tossed with that deliciously creamy bang bang sauce. I actually wished I had a bigger appetite because I absolutely would have ordered another one.
For our entrée, we shared the Steak Frites, and the steak was cooked PERFECTLY. Tender, juicy and so soft it practically melted like butter. Every bite was delicious.
And then came my favorite part…
THE LEMON SORBET SPRITZ.
Listen… this cocktail was made for a summer afternoon! Light, refreshing, citrusy and almost palate-cleansing. It was absolutely delightful. So delightful, in fact, that I ordered TWO.
But you know what really takes a dining experience from good to great? The service.
Our waitress was attentive, personable and genuinely engaging. She asked about our day, what we were doing in the city, and we ended up having a really nice conversation about the theater and our plans. It felt warm and personal not just like someone taking our order.
And THAT is what I love about discovering new places.
Great food.
Great drinks.
Great service.
Great atmosphere.
And a location that couldn’t be more convenient if you’re seeing a Broadway show.
Haswell Green’s gets a big YES from me!
